🎨 Rang Malhar 2025: Artistic Monsoon Festival Returns to Bikaner with 'Clay Tawa' Theme
Bikaner, July 12: The cultural canvas of Bikaner is all set to be painted with the vibrant hues of creativity, as the 16th edition of the Rang Malhar International Visual Art Festival takes center stage on Sunday, July 13, at District Industries Association Auditorium, Rani Bazar. Organized with the collective efforts of Dhora International Artist Society, Bhoj Kala Pranyas, and Rotary Club Bikaner Royals, this year’s edition brings a refreshing theme — "Clay Tawa" — symbolizing nature, tradition, and monsoon celebration.
🌧️ Monsoon, Art & Culture Come Together
Set against the backdrop of seasonal rains, Rang Malhar is more than just an art festival — it's a prayer for prosperity and a celebration of India’s rich visual arts. This year’s theme, conceptualized by Dr. Vidyasagar Upadhyay, turns the humble clay tawa (traditional earthen pan) into a canvas for imagination. Artists from Bikaner and across India will display their work on this unique medium, showcasing creativity inspired by monsoon moods, earth textures, and cultural heritage.
👨🎨 Festival Guests & Special Highlights
The festival will be inaugurated by Vishram Meena, Divisional Commissioner of Bikaner, as the Chief Guest. The event will be chaired by Shrikishan Moondhra, Trustee of CM Moondhra Memorial Charitable Trust, Mumbai. Other distinguished guests include Brijkishan Agarwal, Incoming DGE of Rotary International District 3053, and Dwarakaprasad Pachisia, President of the Bikaner District Industries Association.
The festival is curated and coordinated by artist and lecturer Sunil Dutt Ranga and Kamalkishore Joshi, with veteran artist Mahavir Swami (recipient of the President’s Award) serving as the festival's patron.
🎨 Open Art Festival: A Platform for All
One of the unique aspects of Rang Malhar is its open invitation to visual artists. Any artist, whether emerging or established, can participate. Their artworks will not only be displayed but also archived for future exhibitions and publications. This initiative supports creative expression and encourages emerging talents from smaller towns and rural backgrounds.
🤝 Art, Community & Rotary Club’s Contribution
Rotary Club Bikaner Royals, which has been associated with the event for the past three years, continues its support in 2025. Club President Sunil Chamdiya emphasized that the aim is to promote local talent and give a national platform to Bikaner’s artistic community. At the end of the event, all participating artists will receive certificates of participation and souvenir mementos as tokens of appreciation.
🌿 Art That Celebrates Rain & Nature
This art workshop is more than a creative gathering—it’s a tribute to the monsoon, a symbol of life and renewal. The artworks will reflect nature's beauty, rain-washed emotions, and the rich legacy of folk and modern Indian art. For the citizens of Bikaner, it’s an opportunity to witness the blend of tradition, contemporary art, and environmental themes in one festival.
📢 All Art Lovers Are Welcome!
The organizers have extended a warm welcome to students, local citizens, art enthusiasts, and tourists to attend this inspiring art festival. Whether you're a professional artist, a hobbyist, or just someone who appreciates culture, Rang Malhar 2025 promises an immersive and joyful monsoon celebration.
